Minnesota’s state policy is to provide safe environments and services for vulnerable adults and protective services for vulnerable adults who have been maltreated. The Minnesota Adult Abuse Reporting Center (MAARC) provides a toll-free number, 1-844-880-1574, the general public can call to report suspected maltreatment of vulnerable adults.

(h) The lead investigative agency shall notify the vulnerable adult who is the subject of the report or the vulnerable adult's guardian or health care agent, if known, and any person or facility determined to have maltreated a vulnerable adult, of their appeal or review rights under this section or section 256.021.

Adult protection services Emergency reports. Do not use email in emergency situations or to make a vulnerable adult report. For an immediate response—24 hours a day, seven days a week—call 844-880-1574 to reach the Minnesota Adult Abuse Reporting Center.

Adult Protection. Adult Protection involves making contact with the vulnerable adult to assess and offer emergency and continuing protective services for the purposes of preventing maltreatment and safeguarding the welfare of the vulnerable adult. In Stearns County, adult protection is provided through staff in the Community Supports Division.
